Maple Bourbon Candied Bacon

Just say those words again…Maple Bourbon Candied Bacon…now pinch yourself. It’s real, this is really a thing!
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ⅔ cup pure maple syrup
  • ¼ cup bourbon
  • 2 pounds thick cut pepper bacon
  1. In a bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, maple syrup, and bourbon.
  2. Cut the bacon strips into thirds. Add the bacon to the maple bourbon mixture and toss until evenly coated.
  3. Place the bacon strips on a lined baking sheet with a wire rack that has been sprayed with nonstick cooking spray.
  4. Place in a 375 degree oven for 18 minutes, flip them, and brush will the remaining maple bourbon glaze. Place back into oven for 18 more minutes. (cook time will be less if you are not using very thick cut bacon)
  5. Note: The bacon will harden as it comes to room temp.
